Meet Megan

Handcrafted by Megan Powell is rooted in the belief that woodworking is more than the creation of beautiful things. Wood is the medium but through it, Megan creates connection, expresses culture, tells stories, builds confidence, and creates pieces that become part of the lives and spaces around them.

Megan brings a distinct perspective to every project, drawing from the people and communities that have shaped her. Her work blends function with artistic expression, creating bold, purposeful pieces that bring character to any room.

But some of the most meaningful things Megan builds aren't meant for a showroom.

Her commitment to craftsmanship extends into the Toledo community, where woodworking becomes a tool for education, accessibility, recognition, and service. Through her partnership with Women of Toledo, Megan introduces young people to woodworking, helping them develop practical skills, confidence, creativity, and an appreciation for safe, hands-on craftsmanship.

Through her work with Urban Wholistics, an urban farm serving a Toledo food desert, Megan has used her craft to support food access, education, and community connection. Her contributions include educational and directional signage, custom awards celebrating the farm's resident farmers, ADA-accessible raised garden beds, and a monarch butterfly rearing station.

These projects reflect the heart of what Megan believes: what we build matters, but what we build through it matters even more.
